We need YOU!

Wimborne Model Town is run 99.9% by volunteers who are the life blood of the miniature gem that we love so much. Without them there is no Model Town, so our volunteers are very important to us. Why not join us, make new friends with the same interests as you and have a laugh and put the world to rights over a coffee.

During the open season (April to October) you can assist on the admission desk, welcoming visitors and taking payment or become a steward, learning the history of the Model Town, which is fascinating. Or talking with visitors answering their questions and guiding them with suggestions and information. Or there’s always some gardening to be done in our beautiful gardens, assist our maintenance team in keeping the town in tip top condition or even help to keep our model railway up and running.

Winter Workshop is the closed season (November to March). This is when you can demonstrate your artistic prowess in refurbishing our shop fronts, dioramas and windows, help with the winter gardening or work in our model railway carrying out tasks to ensure it remains fully functional and running during our open season.

There is always something to do, every single month of the year and we encourage our volunteers to attend our twice-yearly free tea/coffee and cake mornings, usually very well attended.

Friendships are made that last years and we are all very invested in what we do to keep the Model Town such a wonderful treasure for the town of Wimborne. We are after all one of the few attractions in Wimborne itself.

If you are interested in joining our volunteers, please email info@wimborne-modeltown.com for more details.
